Closing

The takeaway close

Remove something, and people often want it more.

What it is

You take something away (an option, a bonus, or the offer itself) to help the buyer see what they would miss. It also shows you are not desperate for the sale.

How to use it

  • Offer a smaller version: "If budget is tight, we could drop the blogs and just do the posts."
  • State real limits honestly: "We only onboard two new clients a month."
  • Let them choose. Many buyers then ask to keep the full version.

What it sounds like

You: If four blogs is too much right now, we could leave them out and just do the posts and emails.

Prospect: No, I think the blogs are the part we need most.

Where it goes wrong

Only take away what is genuinely limited. Invented scarcity is misleading, and in consumer sales it can breach consumer-protection law.
