The assumptive close
Talk as if the decision is already made, and ask about the details.
What it is
Instead of asking "Do you want to go ahead?", you ask a question that assumes they will: when to start, which option, who to send the onboarding to.
How to use it
- Only use it after clear buying signals.
- Ask a detail question with two good answers.
- If they push back, step back and ask what is missing.
What it sounds like
You: Would you like to start on the 1st, or get going straight away this week?
Where it goes wrong
Used too early it feels presumptuous and pushy. Earn it with a conversation that has already covered their needs.
